As usual, Walker & Royce typically cater their performance to the crowd, and this time was no different. The absolute jaw-droppers of the night, though, had to be Walker & Royce and Chris Lake. The changeover between BIJOU and Lee Foss took an uncomfortable amount of time, but once he began, Lee Foss got the funky rhythm going. On Friday, Lazer Kitten and mija started the day off, followed by the bass house sounds of BIJOU featuring some of his hit songs like the collab “ Hello” with Dr. Photo Credit: Chatterz Photography Each artist throughout the weekend played some of the best house music I’ve seen in a while. Though the lines for food and drinks were pretty long, they moved quickly. The beautiful weather, neither hot nor cold, kept the vibes high with each day. Since the entire event is at a single stage the whole weekend, it was nice never having any conflicts on the schedule and being able to enjoy each artist on the big outside platform. According to multiple attendees, these new inclusions made a huge difference in how they like the venue now. Additionally, there is now a large cement lookout tower in the back of the crowd that has steps in front, offering more seated areas. The addition of turf instead of grass felt amazing to be able to sit down and not get dirty. Usually known for its muddy grass floor and a hill tough to walk up, The Great Saltair has made some changes this time around. Located at The Great Saltair outside Salt Lake City, the weekend party had great weather, new venue additions, and a whole lot of fun! This year’s edition featured a lineup of phenomenal artists like Chris Lake, Walker & Royce, Dom Dolla, and SIDEPIECE, making it a house music lover’s dream come true. V2 Presents reliably curates great lineups for their seasonal festivals, and their kick-off to summer, Get Funky, topped the charts. Salt Lake City’s annual house music festival, Get Funky, popped off with a spectacular lineup and new additions to the venue.
